Let’s get our spook on!
Crisp air and candy corn, it must be October in a Chicago. A month of ghouls and goblins. 75 degrees one day and 45 degrees the next. And, you know a holiday is upon us when you’re going to Target for milk and batteries and end up leaving with $50 worth of festive decor from the Target dollar spot. A person can get carried away- from bunting, candles to kitschy pictures and so much more.
I collect items through the years and add on as I love shopping for holiday decor. To my tablescape this year, I added muted-colored pumpkins with gold stems and gold glittered votive candle holders. It ties in with other gold-coloreded decor throughout my house. I also added some pumpkin butter scented candles that warmed up the house with a delicious sweet smell. There’s something about a subtle fall scent in the house that creates a feeling of the season.

Each year I keep trying to find an area in my home to showcase the holiday. This year it’s a shelf above my desk. My plan is to use that for every holiday so the entire house isn’t uber decorated.
I find that decor warms up the home and makes it more enjoyable to be there. I hope I provided some inspiration for you and your home!
